Inspirational Abstract Painting
taught by Lisa Binder
Is there a photograph, object, nature scene, or cityscape that inspires or moves you? Want to find a way to loosely interpret those elements into an abstract work of art?
Artist and adventurer Lisa Binder will be newly returned from a 14-day art quest in France that will take her from Paris to Monet’s garden in Giverny, and from Normandy to Les Andelys and Rouen! She’ll share her years of experience and enthusiasm, along with the new techniques and tools she’s acquired, to help you capture the feeling and essence of what inspires you without the pressure to accurately or realistically duplicate an image or scene.
Lisa will guide you in using joy as a jumping off place, and emotion as a route to finding your way in the work. During this time together you’ll loosen your grip, lean in toward that which calls to you, and explore it in your own unique artist’s voice.
Appropriate for all levels, including absolute beginners. Students should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and journal, and wear clothes appropriate for painting.
