Spring into Printmaking
Spend a fun and feisty weekend learning simple non-toxic printmaking methods that can be incorporated into your mixed media artwork! Students will have the opportunity to use Art & Soul’s own press, as well as make prints without a press. We will carve drypoint etchings onto Plexiglas, combine mono-print with image transfer and collage techniques, and stamp hand-carved relief blocks onto paper and fabric. The class culminates with each student assembling a unique accordion-book sampler from images made over the weekend. Appropriate for those new to printmaking, as well as those with experience who would like to learn some new low-tech, non-toxic techniques.
Space limited to 7 students. Participants should bring a water bottle, snacks, and a sack supper/lunch for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. See additional supply list below.
