“[F]ind within the smudges something worthy.” - Beth Kephardt - Finding hope in hard times can be a challenge. In this class, we’ll explore ways to “plant songs where there were curses,” as poet Joy Harjo says. Taking inspiration from the writings of Harjo, Rosemary Wahtola Trommer, and others, we’ll practice finding and expressing hope in our writing. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or are just jumping in, published writer and trained writing coach Karyn Henley will make you feel welcome as she gently leads the way through non-judgmental, fun and freeing writing prompts, tips, and exercises. You can keep what you write private or share it in supportive community. Either way, our free, open practice of playing with words and thoughts can help you discover, nurture, and honor your voice on the page.
